I find plastic materials to be a very dependable resource, not only for a medium but also for inspiration. Most of my toys were made of plastic, and I continue to be just as fascinated with it today as I was when I was a child. Although poly, nylon, and PVC are as prevalent in my work as the oceans, rivers, and streams. It is all, if not mostly, up cycled. I cant wait for the day when I can collect any form of plastic garbage and throw it into a machine to print my own fabric. Perhaps then there will be something magical about plastic’s foreverness and we will eventually mine for it like gold.
